Move your mind, Move your body, Move your soul.
A friend of mine recently introduced me to a workbook called "Me and White Supremacy." As a white woman who teaches yoga, cultural appropriation is something that comes up regularly for me personally. Through a series of events, I came upon Layla Saad and her work. So incredibly important. And talk about a shift.
The whole workbook builds upon the premise that we are all a part of the problem; we all contribute to the world in which we find ourselves. And in the US these days, it can feel like a really messed up place. It's easy to demonize, or de-humanize, others. I do this with Trump. It's easier to think of him as "the other" than to have to face any of the prejudices that might live in me as well. The workbook cuts through all the crap; it talks to you directly - what are YOU doing. What are you NOT doing. Looking forward to working it; leaning in and dealing with all the shit that comes up. Because that's what this life is all about right? We have to go through it, dig through, and come out the other end. Wish me luck.
